Sewing machine price?
I am just a beginning sewer and my mom wants to buy this sewing machine for me. It is a serger and it can do a lot of different things. Is it good for sewing pillows and aprons? Is it a good price? Thankshttp://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=1723621
The item you are showing is just a serger. These machines are used to “seal” the ending of fabric to keep them from unraveling by cutting a slice off and sewing around it. Take a look at the inside of a pair of slacks; the wide stitch is what a serger will do.
What you need is an actual sewing machine. They range from very cheap, to VERY expensive. Since you are a novice, I say start small and add from there…go with the simplest you can find. Wal-Mart has a good one that will work for beginners to advanced sewer for around $100.00
